In recent weeks Josip Brekalo seemed to be getting closer and closer to wearing the Fiorentina jersey. Instead, there has been a sudden cooling in the track to bring the Croatian trequartista to Florence. The Viola is not entirely convinced about acquiring a player who has been stationary for several months. Also complicating matters is another club’s interest in the Wolfsburg player: it is Dinamo Zagreb, a club where Brekalo grew up and would welcome his return.

This was confirmed by his agent Andy Bara, who dismissed the possibility of the 24-year-old former Torino player landing at Vincenzo Italiano’s court, as reported by Fiorentinanews.com: “Josip was close to Fiorentina a month ago, not now. He will not come to Florence,” Bara ruled.
