Clamorous 1-0 defeat for Inter to Empoli at San Siro in the post-match of the 19th day of Serie A.
Fresh from their Super Cup win against AC Milan in Saudi Arabia, the Nerazzurri were down 10 from the 40th minute when Skriniar was sent off. Inzaghi’s men, tired and with few ideas, finally collapsed in the 66th minute when newcomer Baldanzi signed the winning goal from the edge of the box. The trident in the final Lautaro-Dzeko-Lukaku did not help, with the crossbar denying De Vrij the equalizer.
Because of this result, Inter slipped to -12 from Napoli.
