Aleix Espargaró alarmed at Ducati’s strength: ‘It will dominate’

Aprilia rider Aleix Espargaró promoted the Noale manufacturer’s Sepang test: “In general, it went well. If we want to win, we depend on the specifications of the race engine. I think we are behind only Ducati, but we need to be able to stop the bike better and improve the torque at low rpm. The 2023 bike however is a little better than the 2022 bike,” are the words reported by Motorsport.

In general, the Spanish rider is alarmed by the growth shown by all Ducati teams in Sepang: “This year everything looks the same as 2022 and they have not made any mistakes. The Mooney VR46 and Gresini riders are going very fast, and so are the others. If we don’t do something, Ducati will take the top six places in the World Championship.”

Therefore, according to Espargaró, an additional step forward is needed: “Last year’s speech that every good result is welcome is no longer valid. We are obliged to finish in front, although we do not yet have the structure to say that we are obliged to fight for the title.”
