Sarri furious: “Referee not up to it”

Despite the 1-0 win against Cluj in the Conference League first leg playoff, Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri showed some nervousness, in the post-match, talking about one of Patric’s sending off, which forced his team to play 10 for 75′ plus recovery.

“I’m sorry that a referee not up to the standards of European cups conditioned the match with the red to Patric,” Sarri commented, speaking to Lazio’s official radio station. “We had to deal with refereeing that was questionable to say the least. In spite of that, we did well to play a good game.”

“The expulsion forced us to spend more energy from a physical point of view,” continued the Biancoceleste coach. It could weigh on us, as we will play in 64 hours: however, we managed the match well, we did not concede anything and indeed we created several chances for 2-0.”
