Triumph for Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer who, with their second place in the penultimate World Cup stage in St. Moritz, mathematically secured the lead in the overall standings. In today’s race – won by Germany’s Degnhardt/Rosenthal with a time of 1’49″577 -, the two Italians came within just two thousandths of victory, putting Latvia’s Ziedina/Zvilna, trailing by as much as 1″26, behind them.

It was a cup that was never in question for the South Tyrolean duo, who were only waiting for the arithmetic certainty to celebrate a well-deserved result, given their extraordinary performance. In fact, Voetter/Oberhofer, in addition to celebrating victory in the Sprint World Cup, have climbed ten times on the podium of the top circuit this season: their score speaks of four victories, four second places and two third places, in the first historic season of the format in the Cup of the way. The overall standings see the blue crew in front with 940 points to the 815 of the Austrians Egle/Kipp.
