Lisa Vittozzi laughs again for gold with Dorothea Wierer
The words of Lisa Vittozzi
Lisa Vittozzi, multi-medalist biathlete at the recent World Championships in Oberhof, spoke to Radio Sportiva: “It’s a world championship to be framed, I went there with a lot of expectations and I’m really happy, even if I could have picked up something more. I was banking a lot on sprint and pursuit, unfortunately an illness stopped me, I scraped together the energy to make a great final. Individual medals are satisfying, but they are not as good as winning
as a team, because those who compete win as well as those who are out. Our gold was a real masterpiece. That was a race that started very well, at the range we were the best and then we defended well. I was just hoping that Hannah (Auchentaller, ed.) would come in well to relieve me because I was really gassed, I was driven by incredible energy and I’m really satisfied.”
“For me it was two really difficult years, but I didn’t give an inch, I believed in myself by working hard. I’m in a positive phase of my career, I still have a lot to give and I think I’m on the right path. World Cup? In the overall standings I am very well placed, I hope to finish in the top three. The main goal remains Milan-Cortina, but in between there is a lot of satisfaction to be had. The Olympics at home is a big goal, Antholz is a place with which I have quarreled but also rejoiced a lot, I will get to 2026 with a lot of desire to win.”
