Lorenzo Musetti lashes out at haters
Lorenzo Musetti won’t stand for it: “It’s not fair to receive insults and threats for a defeat”
After his exit in his debut match in Indian Wells at the hands of Mannarino, Lorenzo Musetti stressed his desire to focus only on his future goals to get out of this negative period. However, in the days following the defeat, the Italian tennis player was the subject of several attacks and threats to the point of intervening on his social channels with a heavy outburst.
“It is not correct to receive after a defeat so many insults and gratuitous threats towards the people you care about the most. We are professional tennis players, but before anything else we are people who have feelings and ups and downs like everyone else. We work every day to improve and do better,” the Carrara native player began via his Instagram Stories.
“I am sure that true fans of the sport can understand my decision. In addition I would like to thank all those people who supported me and sent messages of encouragement. Happy tennis to everyone,” Musetti concluded about the decision to limit his use of social media.
