ACI Storico Festival returns to Monza
ACI Storico Festival returns to Monza
ACI Storico Festival returns to Monza again in 2023. In fact, on Sunday, April 16, the Temple of Speed will be the scene of the first seasonal appointment among the ACI Storico Club events, for a day that promises to be full of fascination for lovers of heritage, tradition and classic cars.
The success of the format of the event, now in its third edition and organized in collaboration with Automobile Club Milano, Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo and Scuderia del Portello, is demonstrated by last year’s numbers, when more than 650 cars invaded the paddock, the track and the Sopraelevate of the Brianza circuit between parades, exhibitions and non-stop free laps.
The facility will replicate that of 2022, with the road course open from 9:30 a.m. for track day sessions that will occupy the entire day and conclude at 4:45 p.m. Each round will last 25 minutes and will allow members to experience the thrill of driving on one of the world’s most famous tracks.
Space will also be made for an important novelty: participants will in fact be able to try their cars at laps on the track in street legal configuration, with a subsidized cost for ACI Storico members. There will be as many as 6 slots of this type, and one of them will open the very day of track action.
There will also be no shortage of classic parades, which will feature partly on the street circuit between 12:15 and 2:25 p.m. and between 5 and 6 p.m., and partly on the High Speed Ring and the Sopraelevate, with continuous shifts of 30 minutes each starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m.
Finally, a number of panel discussions, presentations and award ceremonies will also be held during the event, located between the paddock and the Tazio Nuvolari Press Room. Among others, at 2:30 p.m. the new course on classic car restoration by MTS Motorsport Technical School will be presented, and at 4 p.m. there will instead be an award ceremony for the cars participating in the ACI Storico Festival.
The Autodrome will be open to the public, as will be free access to the grandstands and paddock, the latter dedicated to static displays of the cars involved in the event. Tours of the Monza Circuit Experience and Tiscali Monza Karting in the inner square of the Curva Parabolica-Alboreto will also be active during the day.
