Bagnaia-Bezzecchi duel, Valentino Rossi has only one fear
Valentino Rossi, clear words on the moment of Franco Morbidelli
Valentino Rossi in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport focused on one of his favorite Academy students, Franco Morbidelli, who in Argentina showed the first signs of recovery after a nightmarish year and a half.
“In Termas we saw again the Franco that we want, that we know. It is a very important moment for him, because in these races he has to try to be competitive to earn his place in the coming years. Meanwhile, doing a race like the one he did in Argentina is very important for morale, because Morbido showed first and foremost to himself that he is there, that he can be there in front.”
However, the Doctor warns his friend, “Argentina is a particular track, I would wait for the next ones to see, hoping that he is competitive, that he can be on Quartararo’s level also in the next races.”
Valentino enjoys the Bagnaia-Bezzecchi pairing at the top of the World Championship: “Of Pecco we now know the value. Bez is coming along. There is a great rivalry between the two of them, very fair ones, loyal. But when they train they go crazy, in the gym, at the Ranch, it’s always a tussle. And that helps them grow a lot.”
Things could get more complicated as the races go on: “If they get to play for the World Championship, from a certain point on it will be difficult to manage them. In my opinion, though, they are smart enough, eventually, to handle it on their own.”
