Modena Volleyball, Sartoretti discusses farewell to Giani and new coach
Between Modena and Giani, it’s over
Modena Volleyball general manager Andrea Sartoretti spoke about the recent corporate decision not to confirm Andrea Giani in the role of head coach. “Andrea Giani is, besides being a coach, also a friend I have known for 35 years so having to handle this situation is not easy,” he said. “Modena Volleyball is a sports club and this is our job, Giani as a professional knows that these things can happen. There is no right time and way in these situations, we looked for the best time to make this transition. Gratitude to Andrea Giani for his work and for winning the CEV Cup will always remain. With Giani we had established a one-year agreement with the possibility of extension or exit on both sides, this second option is the one that occurred and it was a reasoned decision.”
“The next coach,” Sartoretti added, “? We have names in mind, although the dialogue has started very recently we are well on our way to finding the best solution for the group we will present for next season. The market? The change of coach does not change the choices, we are all aligned on our future.”
