Martina Trevisan has qualified on authority to the round of 16 of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid. The Tuscan tennis player beat Alycia Parks of the United States in two sets, with scores of 7-6, 6-1, and will now challenge for a place in the quarterfinals the winner of the match between Pegula and Bouzkova.
After winning the first set in the tie-break 7-3, Italy’s number one overwhelmed her opponent in the second by inflicting a 6-1 no-discussion victory. Trevisan next Monday will rise to No. 18 in the world rankings.
