Filippo Ganna, expected return to the Tour of Switzerland

Filippo Ganna will return to racing at the Tour of Switzerland, which will take place from June 11-18. Confirming the news, at the microphones of ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ is Dario David Cioni, coach of the Verbanese rider in Ineos-Grenadiers.

Ganna is back from a participation in the Giro d’Italia that was far from memorable, mainly due to the Covid that ousted him from the race before the start of the eighth stage, the one with arrival in Fossombrone. The goal, then, is to regain pace on Swiss roads, ahead of the Italian Championships (time trial on June 22, road test two days later) and the summer training camp that will serve to refine form toward the Glasgow World Championships, scheduled for early August.
