These are the statements to the microphones of Sky Sport by Ferrari’s Spaniard Carlos Sainz at the end of the Monaco Grand Prix at the Monte Carlo circuit, where he collected an eighth place.
“We tried, but we didn’t succeed. Maybe even after the second stop, where I was on the medium tires that were better than the hard tires, I tried to stay on the track for an extra lap. But it was a mistake. I also made a mistake there, I shouldn’t have kept the car out for that extra lap. We will learn from these two situations and get stronger. Clearly everything was a bit of a lottery today. It wasn’t easy to make the right decisions, and we didn’t. It was a difficult race.”
