Jannik Sinner, Claudio Mezzadri peremptory: “Patience is needed.”
Mezzadri peremptory over Sinner
At the microphones of News.Superscommesse Claudio Mezzadri had his say on Jannik Sinner. “He is a reality,” the former Swiss tennis player pointed out. “He has a great personality and has always shown from a very young age a particular maturity and a very good presence on the court. So he has the character to win anything, however, you have to be patient. He is working to improve and his improvements are steady.”
“Last year he made a very brave choice, to leave his mentor Riccardo Piatti with his whole team, but this decision was apt because the results prove it,” Mezzadri added. “However, let him work. The potential is there, he still lacks some continuity from the physical point of view, because although he has toughened up, he is still a bit fragile and there are all problems that we hope he will solve, but it’s not much longer.”
What is now being staged is edition number 122 of the French Open, one of the four tournaments that are part of the Grand Slam, the second in order of time after the Australian Open, which in 2023 was won by Serbia’s Novak Djokovic among the men and Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka among the women.
At the men’s level, the Roland Garros roll of honor sees Rafa Nadal widely in the lead: the Spaniard, who was forced to forfeit for this edition, has won 14 times, the last of which was just last year, defeating Norway’s Casper Ruud in the final with a score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-0. At 6 wins is the legendary Swede Bjorn Borg.
