Carlos Sainz’s words.

Carlos Sainz is pumped up for the Spanish GP: “It’s a special race for me, I’m happy to be back home. It is a circuit that has treated me ‘well’ in the past. I saw Ferrari here the first time, and now racing here with the Rossa is special. It feels good to race at home, it gives me more energy.”

“It is one of the circuits where I have scored the most points,” the Ferrari driver also emphasized. Since the update, the car will be more driveable and consistent. It is the first step toward a new direction.”

Carlos Sainz Jr., was born in Madrid on September 1, 1994. He is the son of driver Carlos Sainz, a two-time world rally champion and three-time winner of the Dakar Rally. Despite his father’s successes on dirt roads, Carlos immediately opted for Formula 1, making his debut in 2015 driving a Toro Rosso. After two seasons with the current AlphaTauri, one in Renault and one in McLaren, Sainz officially became a Ferrari driver in 2021. In the colors of the Maranello-based stable, the Spaniard took the first career pole position at Silverstone on July 2, 2022, and the next day he scored the first victory of his Formula 1 career, at the end of a race masterfully conducted in adverse weather conditions. With the success in Britain, Sainz became the second Spanish driver to win a GP in F1, after only Fernando Alonso.
