More than 70,000 fans over the weekend that just ended took part at Misano World “Marco Simoncelli” in Round 5 of the 2023 season of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, the Pirelli Round of Emilia-Romagna. Lots of enthusiasm among Ducatisti and World Superbike fans who were able to meet their idols in the paddock and on the Paddock Show stage.

Great show in WorldSBK, WorldSSP and WorldSSP300. A total of 70,815 people attended the three-day event in Misano, and on the Romagna track many cheered for the great victory in the WorldSSP of home rider Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha), author in Race 2 of a great duel with world ranking leader Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team). Victory in the WorldSSP300 for Bruno Ieraci (ProDina Kawasaki Racing) who gave himself a splendid one-two.

In WorldSBK came two podiums for home idol Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and one for Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing). Ducati won all three races with world champion Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati). Numerous fans supported live Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team) whose first weekend in Misano in WorldSBK had started well before he crashed in Race 1 and Tissot Superpole Race: his weekend ended with seventh place in Race 2.

Last year there had been nearly 66,000 spectators, so compared to 2022 there was a 7.6 percent increase in attendance that surpassed even those of the last pre-pandemic year when 70,447 spectators had stormed Misano in 2019. Lots of spectacle on the track but also outside as, for example, on the Paddock Show stage where there was no shortage of interaction and meetings with the drivers after witnessing up close the spectacle of the awards ceremony of the various races.
