Alberto Gilardino is ready to live his first adventure as a coach in Serie A. Protagonist of Genoa’s promotion, which will return to the most important stage after only one year of purgatory, the Biella-born coach is expected to tie himself to the Ligurian club this week with a two-year contract.
In recent days, immediately after Parma was eliminated in the playoffs at the hands of Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari, rumors had circulated of an interest in Gilardino by the ducal club. The Rossoblù helmer knows the Gialloblù environment very well, having worn the Emilian team’s jersey from 2002 to 2005, scoring some 50 goals.
