F1 Ferrari in perennial crisis, Vigna: “We will rise again”
Ferrari’s flop in Spain despite the upgrades made to the SF-23 does not worry Cavallino CEO Benedetto Vigna, who on the sidelines of the Bloomberg Capital Market Forum quoted a Japanese proverb: “Fall seven times and get up eight.”
“It applies to life, it also applies to F1. It’s not easy, sometimes you slip four stories and you don’t see the end. But with work, with passion, with skills and with your heart you eventually get back up. I’ve been there many times.”
Ferrari hasn’t won a World Championship title since 2008, but Vigna denies that sports racing has taken a back seat for the company: “Racing will always be in Ferrari’s DNA, we are back after 50 years in the premier class of the WEC and this weekend is the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We believe that the racetrack is the ideal environment to test solutions that can then be implemented in road production.”
