Genoa and Gilardino together until 2025: agreement close

Genoa and Alberto Gilardino are close to renewing for one more year the agreement that was already automatically extended by one year after promotion. According to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ the Grifone’s management and the 2006 world champion would in fact be very close to signing the new contract, to give further continuity to the project that as its first important stage had the direct promotion to Serie A in the 2022/23 season.

Gilardino’s is his fifth experience as a coach, a career that began in 2019 at Rezzato in Serie D and continued at Pro Vercelli, Siena, and Genoa’s spring, before taking over as head coach in December 2022, replacing Alexander Blessin.
