Mick Schumacher’s first laps in the Mercedes W14 on the second day of Pirelli testing.

“There is obviously a difference between the simulator and real-world driving. The technology is not yet to the point where we can compare it 100 percent. However, this was the closest experience I have ever had between a simulator and real life. The simulator prepared me and the team made a great effort to correlate it. This helped me know what to expect when I was driving. It is clear why this team is an eight-time world champion.”

“This experience will definitely be useful for me,” confirmed the German, “I have a better understanding of what to pay attention to, what to work on. I also have a better understanding of all the procedures and how the team works trackside. This would be a key factor should I enter a race.”
