F1, GP Canada: further mockery for Carlos Sainz
Spaniard guilty of obstructing Gasly
It promises to be a complicated Canadian GP for the Ferraris. Leclerc also “quarreled” with his race wall, so great was the frustration over a decidedly subpar qualifying (out at Q2). Also bad was Sainz who, on track, finished with the eighth fastest time overall.
An eighth position that later turned into 11th. The reason? The race commissioners found the Ferrari Spaniard guilty of impending, that is, of obstructing Gasly during qualifying. In short, a further mockery against the Cavallino, which, at the Canadian GP, was aiming to fight for the top positions. Starting with Leclerc tenth and Sainz eleventh is not the best way to try to bring home important results.
Thus, the horror moment continues for the Cavallino, which, in this first slice of the F1 season, has scored only one podium with Leclerc, who finished third in Baku. Otherwise only bitter disappointments for the Rossa, which, even in Canada, is in danger of being a mere extra. Lance Stroll, thirteenth, and Yuki Tsunoda, sixteenth, will also be penalized for the same reason, while Nico Hulkenberg, who should have started on the front row in his Haas, will also lose three positions for failing to slow down under a red flag.
