Marc Marquez, backstory on injury: ‘I couldn’t sleep’
Marc Marquez also had to skip the Dutch Grand Prix, following last week’s waiver at the Sachsenring. The Spanish centaur was declared ‘unfit’ following yet another injury that left him with a rib fracture.
“We arrived here in difficult conditions that got worse as the weekend went on,” admitted the Honda rider, in the words reported by FormulaPassion, “last night I was in a lot of pain and couldn’t sleep, when I woke up the pain was very strong and I went straight to the medical center. The checks revealed that the rib fracture had shifted, so we had to skip the race. Now it’s time to rest and recover to come back after the summer break fit and ready to continue working.”
It has been a complicated season so far, to say the least, for the eight-time world champion, who is hoping for the long summer break to recover physically and get back to scoring points in MotoGP.
