Cagliari on Matteo Prati, but Spal shoots high

Cagliari, already very active in the market to guarantee coach Claudio Ranieri a squad that can compete for a quiet salvation in the season of the return to Serie A, has identified Matteo Prati as the reinforcement for the midfield, given the characteristics that would allow him to play either as a midfielder, paired with Makoumbou, or slightly further forward, thanks to his offensive aptitude.

According to reports from ‘Sky Sport,’ however, Spal, which has under contract the player recently seen with the National Under-20 team’s jersey at the World Cup in Argentina, would have asked for 10 million euros in exchange for the transfer, a sum that Cagliari’s management is not willing to shell out.

On the other hand, however, the interest in the footballer is high and the Rossoblù management is ready to sit at the negotiating table with the Estense one: the goal is to obtain a discount, also by including possible technical quid pro quos in the discussion.
