Calvary Pol Espargaró: “I became shorter after the accident.”

Pol Espargaró has recounted his ordeal after the terrible crash in Portimao, which jeopardized his career. The KTM centaur, who suffered several fractures throughout his body, will try to return to the track after the MotoGp summer break, but his future could be as a tester for the Austrian manufacturer.

“I broke vertebrae 3, 6 and 8. The latter was split into four…. I definitely lost an inch and a half. OK, I’m married with 2 daughters, so I don’t care!” are the words reported by Crash.net.

“I spent many hours in the hyperbaric chamber, and also with other machines … I did my best to get back before the summer break, but it was not possible.”

“Now I want to jump in the saddle and see how fast I am. I think I can still show my speed. I will do everything for the team, they have shown me so much love in these three months and they deserve a good result at the end of the season.”
