In a statement, Varese has announced the signing of Davide Moretti, a 1998 sophomore point/guard: “Varese Basketball is happy to announce the signing of Davide Moretti, a ’98 class player who will wear the Openjobmetis jersey starting next season. Moretti is a talented point/guard with strong offensive skills; gifted with an excellent 3-point shot, he comes to Varese after two seasons spent in the ranks of Pesaro.”

These are the words of Varese scouting chief Matteo Jemoli: “We are very happy with the signing of Davide, a player we had been following for several seasons because he is young, Italian and also because he has already shown his skills at a high level. We are sure he will fit well with our style of play because he has an excellent shot from distance, pick’n’roll skills and, despite his young age, a great personality. We expect him soon in Varese.”
