F1 Gp Silverstone: Verstappen already clearly the fastest, Ferrari behind

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was clearly the fastest in the first free practice of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. At Silverstone, the two-time world champion stopped the clock at 1:28.600, placing ahead of teammate Sergio Perez, Alexander Albon’s Williams and Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin.

Lagging further behind are the Ferraris: Charles Leclerc is fifth at seven tenths, Carlos Sainz seventh at eight tenths. Even more in trouble are the Mercedes, with both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell outside the top ten.
