Laquintana returns to Brindisi

Happy Casa Brindisi announced that it has signed a three-year agreement with Tommaso Laquintana, an Italian point guard born July 7, 1995.

A special gift on his 28th birthday, returning to his native Puglia as a star player in the biancoazzurra singlet. A native of Monopoli, he perfected his youth path in his hometown and took his first steps as a senior in Ruvo di Puglia and Bari. His arrival in Brindisi, at Stella del Sud, is a circle that is finally complete.

Tommy has been steadily in the Italian top league since the 2015/16 season, accumulating an experience of more than 200 total games with the jerseys of Capo d’Orlando (6.7 points and almost 3 assists average), Pistoia (6.7 points and 51% from two), Trieste and Brescia. At Leonessa he lives four rich sporting years, culminating with the conquest of the Coppa Italia last year in the 2022 edition played in Turin. During his last season in Lega A he averaged 7.8 points per game.

The career high in points and evaluation in Serie A he achieved exactly against Happy Casa Brindisi, when on March 6, 2022 he took the PalaPentassuglia stage with 20 points and 23 evaluation in just 21 minutes of play. That same arena that is set to become his new home.

Between Eurochallenge in Biella in 2015, and Eurocup in Brescia from 2021 to 2023, his European experience may also prove useful to the Biancoazzurro team engaged in the BCL Qualification Round at the end of September.

“We are very pleased to have brought Tommy back for the next three years. We are confident that the player will embody the spirit of an entire region on all the parquet floors of Italy. It was a choice strongly desired and shared between the club and the technical staff, taking into account that the player was already coached by coach Fabio Corbani during his time in Biella. Good luck Tommy, welcome to Brindisi,” the comment of General Manager Tullio Marino.
