Tour de France: tris of Philipsen in Bordeaux, Vingegaard in yellow

Jasper Philipsen won the seventh stage of the Tour de France 2023, a 169.9-kilometer stage from Mont-de-Marsan to Bordeaux, suitable for sprinters.

The Belgian sprinter confirmed that he was unbeatable by winning his third sprint out of three contested: the Alpecin Deceuninck rider edged out Britain’s Mark Cavendish of Astana Qazaqstan Team, and Eritrean Biniam Girmay of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty.

The best Italian was Luca Mozzato, who finished fourth. In the overall standings, Jonas Vingegaard confirmed himself in the yellow jersey with a 25-second margin over Tadej Pocagar, the green jersey increasingly firmly on the shoulders of Philipsen, so far the prince sprinter of the Grande Boucle.
