Luca Cesana returns to Cantù and makes a promise
Luca Cesana re-embraces Cantù
Pallacanestro Cantù announced on Tuesday that it has reached an agreement for the return to Brianza of Luca Cesana, a 1997-class point guard seen in the last three seasons in Piacenza but formerly in Cantù, first in the youth ranks (he is among the winners of the 2016 Under-20 championship) and then in the first team.
“First of all,” Cesana commented to the club’s official channels, “I thank the club for the opportunity. Coming back to play in Cantù is a dream come true. I know what it means to wear this jersey and I am honored. I pledge to give 100 percent on and off the court to try to respect the colors and make the fans proud. I can’t wait to start again because people like us never give up.”
“We are very happy,” added Acqua S. Bernardo assistant coach Devis Cagnardi, “for the arrival of Luca who, besides being an important player for the category and having gained experience as a protagonist in the last few seasons, is above all a guy who will bring a sense of belonging and pride to Canturino. We felt him convinced and motivated to be able to represent the team of his city and fight together for its people, all emotional characteristics that will have to accompany and push our lineup during this season.”
Cesana, after the 2015/16 season in Cantù, has played in Treviglio, Rome (Eurobasket), Casale and Piacenza. He also boasts more than a fair amount of experience in the youth ranks of the national team, having worn the undershirts of the Under 16, Under 17, Under 18, Under 19 and Under 20 representative teams.
