Helmut Marko’s words

Helmut Marko took stock of the situation at Red Bull on sport.de: “Sergio Perez has a contract also valid for 2024 signed last year and has already survived for two and a half years alongside Verstappen, which in itself is a record. It is not easy. He has been going below average in Qualifying lately, but he compensates with very good performances in the race.”

Chapter Ricciardo: “It’s something completely different from what he had imagined. AlphaTauri is last in the standings. Knowing that Yuki Tsunoda is not a slow driver, Daniel is risking a lot. But he is willing to do it.”

Closing remark on Alexander Albon: “Unfortunately, he is under contract with Williams until 2025. He suffered a lot from the two incidents with Lewis Hamilton in Brazil in 2019 and Austria in 2020, especially the latter because he was in the race to win the Grand Prix. There are few who can stand by Verstappen psychologically and mentally. At that moment giving him up in the team was necessary and we had no alternative for him.”

It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
