Escape from Honda for Joan Mir. From Spain comes more confirmation of the Spanish centaur’s possible farewell to the official HRC team, to sit on a Desmosedici from Borgo Panigale.

The Mallorcan centaur, currently in the pits after his injury at Mugello, is considering his future after his disastrous start with the golden wing. The 2020 world champion after finishing 11th in Portimao has failed to finish a Sunday race, and he counts just 5 points in the overall riders’ standings.

According to rumors coming out of Spain Joan Mir to relaunch himself would be ready to offer himself to Ducati, which could guarantee him a place in the independent Gresini team as early as next season, alongside Alex Marquez and in place of Fabio Di Giannantonio.

The saddle is also coveted by Franco Morbidelli, another rider seeking a revival, and Tony Arbolino, who is now doing well in Moto2.
