Eldor Shomurodov is a new Cagliari player. The Uzbek player moves from Roma on loan with the right of redemption.

“Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the acquisition of the right to the sports performance of the footballer Eldor Shomurodov who transfers from Roma on loan with the right of redemption,” reads the note issued by the red and blue club.

Born in Jarkurgan, Uzbekistan, class of 1995, with the shirt of Bunyodkor Tashkent – ââsquad of the capital city – he collected in the top league of the Uzbek championship 19 goals in 71 matches. In the summer of 2017 he moved to Russia: in the ranks of Rostov in three seasons he totaled 91 appearances with 18 goals and 12 assists.

Continued growth. In October 2020 he is bought by Genoa and his impact with Serie A is immediately positive: he scores his first goal on November 30 against Parma; on May 15, 2021 his first brace also arrives, scored against Atalanta and ends the season with 32 games and 8 goals. To the tune of performances he thus arrives at Roma: with the Giallorossi in a season and a half he totaled 48 appearances, 6 goals with as many assists and won the 21/22 Conference League. In the latter part of last season he played on loan in the ranks of Spezia where he made 16 appearances, 1 goal and 2 assists.

With the Uzbek national team, of which he is captain, he has so far totaled 37 goals in 65 matches.

A central forward, 190 centimeters in height, he is a modern striker who likes to range all over the front of the advanced department, attacking depth and freeing spaces for his teammates. Strong have, great running, with his accelerations and progressions ball to foot he knows how to quickly overturn the front of the game: his dynamism, dribbling, technique, allow him to point effectively towards the side to go to the conclusion or if necessary he seeks the assist for his teammate.
