Cagliari, not only Petagna: new lead in Spain for the attack
Cagliari, Borja Mayoral is being evaluated for the attack
One of the priorities for Cagliari will be a reinforcement in the offensive phase, complicit with Gianluca Lapadula’s serious injury that will keep him in the box for about three months. The Rossoblù are reportedly evaluating several profiles both in Italy and abroad to replace the Italian-Peruvian center forward.
According to reports in “La Gazzetta dello Sport,” one name that has reportedly been gaining momentum is Borja Mayoral, a former Roma striker on the books at Getafe. The island club has reportedly already begun sounding out the feasibility of the operation. The Real Madrid-raised forward could be the fourth center forward, in Lapadula’s absence, along with Luvumbo, Shomurodov and Pavoletti.
Besides the Spaniard, the Rossoblù would also initiate contacts for two Serie A profiles, namely Monza’s Andrea Petagna and Milan’s Lorenzo Colombo.
Cagliari will play in Serie A next year after only one season in the cadet league: promotion came in extremis, thanks to Pavoletti’s goal in full recovery in the return leg of the playoff final, at the San Nicola against Bari.
