Gianluigi Donnarumma, Juventus makes a comeback
Juventus hypothesis for Gianluigi Donnarumma regains momentum
Gianluigi Donnarumma is once again tickling Juventus’ market fantasies. The Bianconeri club is in fact considering the possibility of selling Wojciech Szczesny to Bayern Munich, should an important offer come in both financially and in terms of quid pro quo, and according to reports from ‘Sportmediaset’ it is ready to knock again, as it did last summer, the doors of the offices of the PSG management for the former AC Milan extreme defender.
It is not, however, an easy deal: with the prospect of losing Yann Sommer (Inter Milan remains at the window, in this regard), the Bavarians are considering several alternatives and Szczesny would actually come after Brentford’s David Raya, especially in case the club’s economic efforts should focus on the arrival, in attack, of Harry Kane from Tottenham.
However, nothing can be taken for granted in the summer market, especially these days: that is why Juventus would have ‘Gigio’s’ name at the top of the wish list, in case of the Polish national’s farewell, although the Bianconeri club’s exclusion from the European cups would, in fact, prevent the class of 1999 from retrying the assault on one of the three continental trophies.
Donnarumma has been one of the most precocious players in Serie A history: launched by Sinisa Mihajlovic in October 2015 (at just over 16 years old), he was able to carve out an important role for himself first at AC Milan (an Italian Super Cup, won for him in 2016) and then in the national team (he was one of the heroes of Euro2020). He has been defending the posts of Paris Saint-Germain since 2021; in his first two seasons he won the league on both occasions and the national Super Cup in 2022.
