On the eve of the men’s elite road race at the world championships in Glasgow, Italy’s head coach Daniele Bennati, as written in the Italian Cycling Federation’s communiqué, “named the eight starters for tomorrow’s race (9:30 a.m. start, 271.1 km):

Reserve: Andrea Pasqualon – Baharain Victorious

Making their debut at a pro world championships are Baroncini (Italian No. 258), who returns to a rainbow event 2 years after his success among the U23s in Leuven, Sbaragli (Italian No. 259) and Velasco (Italian No. 260).

In the other scheduled races, as far as the track is concerned, Elia Viviani’s tournament debut, who reached Glasgow last night.

In the individual pursuit, Filippo Ganna and Jonathan Milan are entered as defending world champion and defending European champion, respectively. At the end of the team pursuit final today evening, athletes and staff will evaluate participation.

MTB also makes its debut in the morning, with the Marathon Elite and Women Elite races.
