Jannik Sinner crowns Carlos Alcaraz: “He is probably the best player in the world.”

Ahead of his debut in the Toronto tournament, Italian number one Jannik Sinner returned to talk about his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz. In addition, the South Tyrolean tennis player wanted to praise the Spaniard for his recent results.

“I think Carlos has proven to be one of the best, if not the strongest in the world. He’s number one in the ATP Ranking and he managed to win Wimbledon by beating Novak Djokovic in the final, which is a great confidence boost,” the South Tyrolean tennis player began as can be read on “Tennisword.”

“Every match I’ve played against him has been very good, high level, and I think we’ve proven that on multiple occasions. I prefer to focus on myself and go on my way,” added the Italian number one.

“I think he is one step ahead of me at the moment, obviously the fact that he has already won major tournaments gives him great confidence. I’m just trying to train as best I can so that I can play with him when I face him in the future,” concluded Jannik Sinner.

Making his debut in the Canadian tournament, the South Tyrolean tennis player will face the winner of the match between Matteo Berrettini and Gregoire Barrere.
