European Championships, Paola Egonu intrigued by Ekaterina Antropova

The European Championships will begin next August 15

From August 15 to September 3, the men’s volleyball European Championships will be staged. A traveling review, considering that they will be held in Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Germany. The Azzurre, of course, are aiming for a great European Championship.

“We expect a lot of support from our fans,” began Paola Egonu, who returned to the national team after missing the first part of the season and therefore the Nations League. “It will certainly be exciting to play a good part of the European Championship in Italy and I am sure it will be a stimulus for us as well as a great source of pride. The ambition in our team is there and with this group we will do the best we can to go all the way,” Egonu’s words to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The national team star knows that the talented Antropova, the other name to watch in the Azzurre’s ranks, could come in very handy for the national team’s cause. To date, coach Mazzanti has not yet revealed whether the two will be used together or not: “We will find out together, I am curious too,” Egonu’s own words. There will not be long to wait since Italy will make its European Championship debut on August 15 against Romania in the striking Arena of Verona.
