MotoGp, Honda top brass categorical about Marc Marquez
Koji Watanabe, president of HRC, also spoke about Marquez’s future
Koji Watanabe, president of HRC, stated categorically that Honda has no plans to leave MotoGp and aims to provide Marc Marquez with a competitive bike as soon as possible. The number 93’s future was one of the focal points of Watanabe’s interview with Japanese reporters from ‘Shueisha Shinsho.
“We have no other choice,” Watanabe said, “we have to build fast bikes that can win. Whenever I attend a MotoGp weekend, I always talk to Marc at length. What we have to do is fine-tune the bike he wants-we will do it as soon as possible.”
“Every decision has to be made in its own time,” the Japanese manager added. “We have our times and he has his, and there can always be something we don’t agree on. However, we have a common goal, we work together and we will not give up.”
No “divorce,” then, between Honda and its champion: “We will devote more personnel, we will commit ourselves as never before: and we will never leave MotoGp,” said Watanabe again, who wanted in this way to extinguish some of the market rumors of this summer.
