Napoli wins last friendly in Castel di Sangro

The cycle of four friendlies with European teams during the second phase of the training camp in Castel di Sangro, Abruzzo, ended with a victory for Napoli over Cypriots Apollon Limassol. The match ended with a 2-0 result accrued in the second half with goals from Osimhen and Simeone, after the emotionless first half had ended 0-0.

Rudi Garcia fields the starting team, presumably the one that will make its league debut next week in Frosinone. In defense Juan Jesus plays alongside Rrahmani, in midfield, Elmas replaces the injured Anguissa and in attack Raspadori completes the trident alongside Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia.

The Azzurri’s maneuvering in the first half is not fluid and there are no shots on goal that put the Cypriots’ defense at risk. In the second half Gracia decides on several substitutions and also debuts Natan and Cajuste the two newest arrivals.

The result was unlocked by Osimhen, who in the 60th minute finished on goal an action started irresistibly by Kvaratskhelia on the left flank. Ten minutes later Simeone doubled the score with a ball that went over the Apollon goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The next engagement will be their debut as Italian champions, at the Benito Stirpe Stadium against Frosinone on Saturday 19 at 6:30 p.m.
