The men’s and women’s cross-country teams continue in their preparation work in northern Europe, with a maxi gathering starting on August bank holiday that will run until the 27th of the month. Head coach Markus Cramer chose to continue the work in Norway after a summer spent focusing on work in Scandinavian lands, with the Azzurri first in Sweden in Torsby, June 15-25, and then in Trysil (Nor) until July 2, in Sjusjoen and Sandnes (Nor). After participating in Blinkfestivalen, in which Chicco Pellegrino took victory in the sprint ahead of Norway’s Klaebo, Trondheim, also in Norway, will be the venue chosen to continue with the work leading up to the next World Cup season.

Nine athletes will continue the work, with Federico Pellegrino leading the group composed of Francesco De Fabiani, Paolo Ventura, Davide Graz, Simone Mocellini, Simone Daprà, Elia Barp, Francesca Franchi, Anna Comarella and Caterina Ganz. The group will be followed by the technical staff composed of Tommaso Custodero and Francois Ronc Cella, as well as physiotherapist Christophe Savoye.

Lisa Vittozzi meanwhile clearly won the City Biathlon in Wiesbaden on Sunday, dominating the race with a scary performance on the range, with just three reloads used in the six shooting series of the German race.

Behind her was the excellent Weidel, 45″ behind the Italian. In third place finished Frenchwoman Jeanmonnot, who despite a penalty, managed in the last lap to recover and pull away from Dorothea Wierer, who had overtaken her with a beautiful last standing series. The financier from Rasun used six reloads, paying especially for the second series on the ground.

Lisa Vittozzi’s is the third Italian victory at the City Biathlon, two for the Sappadine and one for Wierer.
