Lorenzo Musetti gets off to a strong start: now there’s Medvedev
Excellent start for Lorenzo Musetti at the Cincinnati Masters 1000: the Carrara tennis player quickly overcame Britain’s Daniel Evans in two sets in the first round of the U.S. Masters 1000.
The number two Italian tennis player won 6-4 6-3 in a match that was always led and lasted less than an hour and a half.
Now it’s back to world No. 3 Daniil Medvedev, who beat him in the round of 16 at the Toronto Masters 1000 a week ago in the only confrontation between the two so far.
The match between Musetti and Evans had been postponed until Wednesday after rain on Tuesday.
