In Cincinnati Jasmine Paolini stopped in quarterfinals by Coco Gauff
Nothing to do for Jasmine Paolini, who in the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati WTA 1000 was decisively beaten by U.S. Coco Gauff, world number 7, with a score of 6-3 6-2 in just over an hour and 10 minutes of play.
It was the 27-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, Tuscany, who got off to the best start: she went 2-0 up, but then the home favorite turned the tide at 4-2 and then made another break in the ninth game, closing out the partial at the third set point.
Also in the second set it is Paolini who takes a 2-0 lead but then the match has no more history: six consecutive games for Gauff and closing on the second match point. However, for the world number 43 remains the satisfaction of having reached the quarterfinals for the first time in a 1000 and on Monday she will have her best ranking, number 35.
