Italy-Ukraine, the probable formations
Three days after the disappointing draw in the home of North Macedonia, Italy comes to San Siro to face Ukraine in a challenge that already smacks of "inside or outside" for the men coached by Luciano Spalletti, forced to win in order not to see more and more distant the qualification to Euro 2024.
Without Tonali, who is injured, there's room in midfield for Locatelli, flanked by Barella and Frattesi. Up front è entrusted to Zaniolo and Raspadori to take some of the weight of responsibility off the shoulders of Ciro Immobile. As for the Ukrainians, coming off a good draw against England, confirmed barring any last-minute surprises is the 4-2-3-1 with Dovbyk pivoting the attack. The last precedent dates back to Oct. 10, 2018: in a friendly in Genoa it ended 1-1, with goals by Bernardeschi and Malinovskyi.
Probable formations:
ITALY (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Scalvini, Bastoni, Biraghi; Barella, Locatelli, Frattesi; Zaniolo, Immobile, Raspadori. C.t. Spalletti
UKRAINE (4-2-3-1): Bushchan; Konoplya, Zabarnyi, Kryvtsov, Mykolenko; Zinchenko, Stepanenko; Tsyganov, Sudakov, Mudryk; Dovbyk. C.t. Rebrov.
