Comeback victory for Italvolley on its Pre-Olympic debut
Italvolley's adventure in the qualifying tournament for the Paris 2024 Olympics begins with a victory. The boys of Fefé De Giorgi, in fact, won in a comeback against the Czech Republic with the score of 24-26; 25-18; 25-22; 25-19.
The first set began with the Czech Republic managing to impose its game, managing to escape on 12-7. However, the Azzurri managed to regain the disadvantage and come to point at the end of the set, where two excellent hits by Handrava gave the partial to the Czech Republic.
In the second set, Italy managed to impose more of its rhythm and after squandering a four-point lead at 11-7, De Giorgi’s boys managed to place the decisive breakthrough at 21-16.
In the third partial, the Azzurri managed to create a three-point lead in the early stages of the set, which they then managed to maintain until the final 25-22. Also in the fourth and final set Romanò and teammates manage to take the lead from the start closing with an easy 25-19.
