Carlos Sainz è confident about the gap with Red Bull
A few days before the Qatar GP, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz wanted to emphasize the Maranello team’s growth path. In addition, the Spaniard è dwelt on the gap to Red Bull.
"I am always optimistic before the start of the season. You have to be, because in the last two years the only ones able to fight with Red Bull have been Ferrari. With the new rules, they have proven to be almost unbeatable, but if there's anyone who can beat them, it's us. I think I am in the best place to be competitive in 2024, with six races to go we still have time to find out what we need to improve on and prepare as best we can. We know exactly what we lack, we have been able to figure it out and identify it. Another thing è the ability to react, which we will have to see if we can do from the first race next year. Time will tellà" began the Spanish rider at the press conference.
"For me è the Red Bull to make the difference, without them Ferrari would be having a pretty good year, in fact it would be one of the most fought seasons, given the fight between us, Aston Martin, McLaren and Mercedes. We are all at a very similar level, but there's someone with a half-second advantage. There would be no point in copying Red Bull, since they would still be two years ahead. We have no choice but to focus on our work" added Carlos Sainz.
