Paola Egonu: possible twist for Italvolley's bench

New rumors are popping up for the bench of the Italian national volleyball team. After the flop at the European Championships and the pre-Olympic tournament, Davide Mazzanti's farewell seems practically certain, but there is still only speculation about the name of the possible replacement, who could arrive after the Federal Council scheduled for mid-October.

Julio Velasco, already the legendary coach of the men’s team, remains the number one candidate although he has denied receiving offers at the moment.

In the last few hours è a new rumor has surfaced: according to Volleynews reports, Zoran Terzic, a former coach of Serbia capable of winning World Championships, European Championships and two Olympic medals, has reportedly been contacted by the Federation for the role of coach of the Azzurre. Currently Terzic è the technical commissioner of Russia, without matches due to sanctions, and coach of Dinamo Kazan.

On the appointment of the new coach will also depend the return to the team of Paola Egonu and the other veteran Azzurre, who were absent for one reason or another at the Pre-Olympic.
