Italy beaten by Cuba, Olympic qualification at risk

Another loss for Italy in the qualifying tournament for the 2004 Paris Olympic Games, underway in Brazil.

After losing two days ago to Germany, the Azzurri were unable to build on yesterday&#39s victory over Iran and suffered a heavy setback against Cuba.

The Central Americans prevailed 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 27-25, 29-27), managing to get the better of them in the key moments of a hard-fought point-to-point match.

Now the reigning world champion Azzurri to hope for direct qualification to the Games must beat Brazil, which is ahead of them in the pool standings, tomorrow, possibly without dropping a set.
