Spain, Scotland and Turkey fly to Euro 2024

In the eighth day of Euro 2024 qualifiers, Spain, Scotland and Turkey qualified early for the upcoming European Championships. The Red Furies came out on top 1-0 against Norway thanks to Gavi’s goal, while Vincenzo Montella’s men crushed Latvia with a resounding 4-0, signed by Tosun’s brace and goals from Akgun and Akturkoglu.

Spain’s victory also gives qualification to Scotland in Group A (both tied at the top with 15 points), while condemning Erling Haaland’s Norway, stuck on 10 points. In the group's other match in the afternoon, Georgia had won over Cyprus 4-0 with goals from Kiteishvili, Kvaratskhelia, Shengelia and Mikautadze.

On the other hand, in the other Group D match, which sees Turkey, already qualified, as the lone leader at 16, Wales beat Croatia 2-1 thanks to Wilson’s double, while Pasalic had scored for the Croatians, who now find themselves in third place, right behind the Welsh.

In Group E, the Czech Republic beat the Faroe Islands by a narrow margin thanks to Soucek’s goal on a penalty kick, while Poland è was stopped by Moldova at 1-1: the Moldavians’ lead through Nicolaescu was answered by Swiderski.

Finally, in Group I, a pyrotechnic 3-3 draw between Switzerland and Belarus: Shaqiri, Akanji and Amdouni found the goals for the Swiss, while Ebong, Polyakov and Antilevski scored for the Belarusians; in the other match of the group, Romania dropped a poker against Andorra, thanks to goals by Stanciu, Hagi, Marin and Coman.
