Started with the ambition of being the third force in the Formula 1 World Championship, Aston Martin is failing to confirm the good things seen at the beginning of the season and the seventeenth place of Fernando Alonso in the qualifying of the U.S. Grand Prix has only exacerbated a situation far from positive.

Harsh words those of the Asturian, who after six podiums won in the first eight races of this 2023 suffered the involution of his car and the improvements by opponents, McLaren and Ferrari above all. From Austria onward, in subsequent GPs, Alonso è finished only once among the top three, at Zandvoort. The Asian interlude è was even worse: 15° at Singapore, 8° at Suzuka and 6° at Lusail (8° in the Qatari Sprint), without ever approaching the top.
