Blizzard at Phillip Island: Pecco Bagnaia’s proposal to MotoGP
The new calendar upheaval brings dutiful reflection.
Pecco Bagnaia is calling for a turnaround in MotoGP from Phillip Island. Here on Sunday è skipped the Sprint Race, which had already been previously postponed a day by reversing the order with the actual Grand Prix (held instead on an anomalous Saturday). The final cancellation of a rainbow round that would have awarded important points anyway did not è però please the Ducati holder.
While retaining the lead in the standings over rival Jorge Martin (who missed an opportunity to try to shorten the gap), Bagnaia è was clear at the end of the day about the situation that MotoGP experienced in Australia. Especially that no one was surprised: "When you lose races è always a shame. But a little bit of it was imagined", he said.
Bagnaia in that sense even decided to give advice to MotoGP: "The conditions were beyond the limits, at one point we saw an umbrella in the middle of the track. Vietti è crashed in Moto2 pushed by the wind, and all the decisions made of the course of the weekend were correct. This is exactly why I think it would be better to move Mandalika and Phillip Island to the beginning of the season, maybe reversing them with Austin and Argentina. I don't know però if this would create calendar problems with Formula 1".
